Rescue and Observing

Last night after assisting at a car accident I then went to pick up a hawk that had been on the ground. This morning I delivered the bird to a rehabber (Terese with Black Hawk Wildlife Rehabilitation Project). Before moving the hawk to a care cage I took pictures of it. After much study and testing with a bird identification app I believe this was an injured broad-winged hawk. Let’s hope it can recover from what is ailing it. Thanks Terese!!

While mowing the lawn I noticed much activity on some of our prairie plants. Grass-cutting paused as I shot photos shared here.
