So Much To See, All Close To Home

Without even starting an engine today I was able to experience a small-scale wildlife safari within walking distance of our backdoor. Many observations came from our prairie. Some were from the edge of the road near our home.

If anyone is considering establishing a prairie with an emphasis on pollinator habitat, I would encourage you to do it. It takes some time to become established and does require continuous maintenance, but it is worth it. The wildlife do find the habitat and each outing in the vegetation provides a different view.

Following are some of the pictures made today. Notice the intricate details of the moths, butterfly, and flying insects. We are not often able to see these creatures so close.
