Baseball Cap Fungi, Indian Pond Mascot, and Other Observations

During my exploration time this morning I did not find anything unusual or worthy of recognition on the Nightly News. I did find a fungus that, when I saw it, reminded me of a fungi baseball cap. Not only did this look like a baseball cap, but the fungi appeared as a very nice baseball cap - one that I might wear. What it really was, according to my research, was a bracket fungus.

I also found what might work well as an Indian Pond mascot for when the human population at Indian Pond supports a school with a sports team. How about the Indian Pond Painted Turtles? Works for me, as does this mascot proposal.

Finally, there are still plenty of flowers in bloom. Some require a bit of looking, but they are out there.
