Powerful Greens

Along the Cedar River is a setting I have returned to many times. Rich green moss and shadows create a scene not witnessed everywhere. When isolated as the only view, these moss-covered trees suggest a mysterious path to a sweeping vista or some form of a lush setting.

This morning I visited this small area with my camera and tripod. I hardly needed more images of this location, but still invested time working the scene. And, I returned with similar images as in the past.

Repetitious or not, I enjoyed the visit to the trees and moss. A time may come when the trees succumb to wind or nature or age and this composition will be gone forever. For today though, this scene was mine and I appreciated it.

As I reviewed my images I could not decide which version I preferred - a view that includes a larger opening at the end of the trees or a composition with a much smaller opening - a peek view so to speak. Since I struggled to decide a favorite, I am sharing both views.
