Looking Around - A Long Trip

Since I had an appointment this afternoon with U of I, I left early this morning to do some exploring on the drive down. Extra destinations for the day were Lake McBride (seen here), Coralville Lake, and the Devonian Fossil Area. Since this was my first time at each locale, I spent more time looking around than I did pressing my shutter release.

Birds seen today included a young bald eagle doing test flights across its nest and a pair of American white pelicans. Notice how aged/tired the pelicans appear. There was very little color in their beaks.

Tonight I enjoyed a fun photography presentation at the Plum Creek Art Center in Fredericksburg, Iowa. What a great time! If you are in the area, I encourage you to stop by to check out the creative work of many people. Thank you Plum Creek Art Center and the attendees!
