Coldwater Creek Wildlife Management Area

When I woke this morning I made a quick decision to drive to the Coldwater Creek Wildlife Management Area to hike to the source of Coldwater Creek. This was not a huge undertaking, but not a walk in the park either. Due to crossing the trout stream multiple times, I did the hike wearing neoprene chest waders.

Kristy and I had explored a very small part of Coldwater Creek last year, but since we did not have waders with us, our hike was minimal. Today was different. I hiked from the parking area on the top of the hill down to the trout stream and up to the source (and back).

“Wow” was my reaction when I made it upstream. What a beautiful place that somehow I did not know about until this morning. I know I will be going back!

I hope to share a video of my outing soon. For now I am posting these images recorded this morning.
