Some From Today, Some From Earlier

Since today was the first day of the first shotgun deer season, I opted to stay out of “deer likely” areas while I was exploring with my gear. Much of the time was spent doing gravel travel where ring-necked pheasants were seen most often.

Along with the pheasants I watched a flock of wild turkeys too. Every now and then I was able to shoot a picture of an individual bird.

Try as I might, I (along with another birder), were not able to locate owls in multiple locations. I did find what I believe to be a pellet - possibly from an owl, but I am not sure. If this wasn’t an owl pellet, then I carried animal poop in my pocket.

I would like to share some other images recorded over the past weeks. The captions explain what we are looking at.

Finally, I photographed this owl a number of weeks ago, before the snow, the cold, and the wind.
