Don’t Be Lazy Kip!!

As I made my way from one task to another today I checked out a green space not far off my path. From the comfort of my truck I could see white campion blossoms - many white campion blossoms - still in full bloom. All of the blossoms were in heavy brush cover… something rather discouraging. Then there was a drippage issue. Light rain was dripping from the sky and I simply did not want to get out in the rain for a photo. Being lazy, I reached for my long lens that does a better job on birds than blossoms in a busy setting.

Not one composition with the long lens met my standards. So, I got out in the rain, put my macro gear together, and did a better job of composing and preserving an image of white campion with a cleaner background. My laziness almost cost me a decent photo!

Since I had my gear out I also photographed a pretty fall scene and a great blue heron not too far away.

At our house we had two bald eagles in our tree. This was the adult. I wonder if the turkey vultures (nature’s other clean-up crew) have left for the season. I have not seen one locally for a couple/few days.
