To the Guy Who Gives Me Grief Sometimes About Birding

I have this family member who has been in the area for the past few days for the holidays. When time allows, he enjoys tromping around with me on my photo trips. During our wanderings in the woods I asked him to keep his eyes open for a long-eared owl since I have not seen one for years. I realized tonight that I was asking him to watch for something that maybe he had not seen. So, this post is meant for him.

This is a unique long-eared owl specimen. Flight is challenging and hearing is not too good either. If you find one like this, please let me know! Thanks for being a good sport!! (Not a real bird - this is a joke)
