Continuing to Learn

Every day a person should try to learn something. Continuing to learn expands horizons and could just open up opportunities at another time.

For a while now I have wanted to learn to focus stack my photos. Focus stacking involves merging multiple images into one image with various portions of each image in sharp focus. The end result is a picture with sharpness from front to back, or nearly so. (Note: I will not focus stack all of my images, but there are times when I have desired that effect.)

I have tried various software to aid this process with limited results. Not too long ago I downloaded a program that seems to do a good job most of the time. The following three images - while nothing special - were focus stacked. A fourth photo - my orange mycena fungi image from yesterday - was a focus stack test at close range. Tonight was further away.
