The Wonder of Fog with More From the Day
Before going to bed last night I checked the weather forecast for today, especially this morning. “Areas of Fog” were the key words in the description for this morning. That meant as soon as I woke I was gathering my camera equipment to document the wonders of fog.
Other than when I am driving in fog, I really like the phenomenon of limited visibility… the challenging of the senses, the muting of the environment, the transition of ordinary to beautiful. Fog can make the mundane pretty.
I began photographing myself walking down our gravel road toward the fog.

Then I photographed different views of our rural landscape covered by areas of patchy fog. I had to move around since the fog was hit and miss and ever-changing, but I did manage to record some images I enjoy.

Following the fog photography I shot pictures of a gray tree frog that we were concerned might become a victim to our cats. After relocating the frog I photographed it in several poses as it moved to its chosen location of hopeful safety.

After the sun was higher in the sky I combined my morning walk with a macro study of butterflies, a moth, and beetles.
