Not So Sure on the App - Since My Last Post
Since my last post I have shot a number of what I consider to be interesting pictures. Following are some of the details.
This morning I found a wildflower I did not remember seeing before. According to my identification app, I was seeing a “sharpwing monkeyflower.” As expected, I was thrilled to find a “new to me” plant. Then, when I got home and did some more research, I began to doubt the app. Now I think I found a white version of an Allegheny monkeyflower - a wild plant that is common this time of year. Rare or not, the blossom was quite pretty.

Here at home I had a couple of interesting bird observations. While watching the male dickcissel flit around in our sunflowers I had what appears to be a clay-colored sparrow stop by.

Not long after what I think is a feral pigeon did a couple of “fly-bys” before pausing for a few seconds on a building.

At our cabin we had a pair of red-headed woodpeckers squabbling for a dead tree. This one made for interesting pictures.

Other photos for the day featured wildflowers, fungi, and a couple of our male dickcissel.
