For My Mom

Other than my wife, my mother is most likely to know of photography projects I might be working on. The same goes for my conservation-style efforts. Mom keeps track of what I am up to.

For several years I have attempted to get butterfly weed established at our home. At the same time I shared butterfly weed seeds with my mother to see if she might have better luck than I had been having.

For reasons unknown to me, this year was my year for butterfly weed to bloom. Since my mom is not in a position to enjoy my butterfly weed first hand, I shot photos of her favorite plant. This butterfly weed is for you Mom. I hope yours begins blooming soon too!

Since Mom, Kristy, and I enjoy all sorts of wildflowers, I photographed other species too while I was looking at my butterfly weed blossoms. Following are some of my plants.
