Blessings
This day was one of blessings for which I am so thankful. Allow me to explain.
A family member and I have spent much of the week (so far) at the great healing spot to the north. This was not a routine visit alone, but also included an equipment upgrade. We very much underestimated the length of time the surgery was going to take resulting in me looking for my photos of the day while being emotionally distracted by the more important activity underway in a surgery suite.
As I passed time in the courtyard, I intentionally parked myself near the cultivated flowers on the perimeter. There I found wax begonias and Chinese astilbe blooms. No, neither is native, but still, when you are in a concrete jungle cultivated plants are special.

I mentioned being emotionally detached due to the importance of the surgery when the plant pictures were made. Later, after we returned to the hotel, I remembered there might be one of my favorite paintings that features aspen trees. I found that painting again on the third floor, near the elevator. I really like this painting! This scene immediately takes me away to a happy place.

Now for the other blessings of the day.
First - To the medical team we are so grateful for your skill, compassion, and commitment to your patients. Once again you have demonstrated how society should live - caring for each other with respect and dignity. For you we are thankful.
Second - We met so many people with amazing stories of healing, faith, and even some sadness. While few names were shared, but most of you are unknown, know that our conversations were enlightening and appreciated. Sharing thoughts and emotions with others helps to put each situation in perspective. Thank you very much!
Finally - We are very thankful the good Lord has carried us through another challenge. Apparently we still have work to do here on earth. We will do our best. Thank you Lord!
