Noisy Neighbors

As I was messing around at the cabin this morning my efforts were interrupted by a not-quite melodic honking coming from the water. Based only on sound I knew the source of the low audio notes. A glance toward the river confirmed our trumpeter swan pair was approaching to check what I was doing.

Of course I stopped my project to grab my camera and tripod. As the swans often do, today they approached, this time within 20-30 yards to check me out. It seems each time they swim toward me they are getting closer. It is quite fun!

About an hour later they returned. We are becoming acquainted and trusting of each other.
