Observations On A Cold, Windy, Gray Day At Sweet Marsh

When it came time to go outside today I was hesitant. After warm days I could not get excited about getting chilled. Still, I went out for my walk at Sweet Marsh and saw plenty.

In the waterfowl category, most species have arrived. Some are present in impressive numbers while other species have a few in the area. As happens during migration, conditions change every day.

On my path I noticed a small puffball. Although we have had moisture and warm days, I think this was from last fall.

Not far from Sweet Marsh this domestic “swan goose,” along with two others made me think of a buddy of mine and his goose experiences. I opted to shoot pics since the coloration of these noisy birds was quite interesting.

I will end today’s discussion with this fly that needs a hook as I was fly tying.
