45-years Ago

Forty-five years ago this morning I went squirrel hunting on a chilly, damp October morning. I don’t remember how many I came home with, if any. Later that day, sometime in the afternoon, I got married.

Forty-five years later (today) I spent part of the day target shooting with an air rifle as I shot flies off a pizza box. Tonight my bride and I will eat leftover pizza since I am on call. I appreciate that she rolls with my schedules! (We will go out another time to celebrate!)

After target shooting I wandered our ponderosa. I was surprised to find two fungi species I had last seen near the Wapsipinicon River along with a still blooming primrose and clouded sulphur butterfly.

Yesterday I shot some photos that I did not share due to posting about the owl release. Following is a sampling.
