Wild Life and Odd Weather

After this morning’s weather conditions I am not sure what to expect. First we had fog - plenty of fog. Then conditions cleared so I went out exploring. I saw an interesting view from the air as the sun was rising and the fog was burning off. (Notice the patchwork landscape in the background.)

Eventually, under clear conditions, I found trumpeter swans and a lone ring-necked duck. That the duck was alone had me wondering if maybe it was injured or ill. I did see it fly twice, so maybe the duck just isn’t ready to move south yet.

As I was on the water a heavy blanket of fog returned - so much so that I could not see the end of the small lake I was paddling. Even the duck was somewhat obscured by the fog.

Then, in another matter of minutes, the fog was gone again and the sun was lighting colorful trees. I documented some of the autumn beauty from the air.
