Feathers and Fungi

After the last bout with rain that is quickly causing the rivers and streams to rise, I thought I better get out for my October paddle before I couldn’t. (I have paddled every month of the year for years.) I wasn’t expecting to see much but was fortunate to find a green heron working the shoreline opposite our cabin. Unlike recent green heron sightings, this bird allowed me to sit quietly and watch it catch little minnows.

Not only did I photograph the green heron, but I also shot pictures of more fungi. With so much moisture we are having a good year for fungi. Following are some species I have not shared recently. Note: There are many fungi variables. Hopefully my app correctly identified each species.

Since I am sharing pics, I will include a couple of autumn color images.
